5 senses response

Never used a blog before, so we'll see how this goes...(It's Sara, btw).

No senses, eh? I believe that internal comprehension is completely separate from the physical being, meaning if all senses were eliminated, we would still be perfectly capable of absorbing experience and synthesizing the information we gain through that. Anything we are able to internally comprehend (intuitively, logically, emotionally, etc.), we could technically know. For example, human beings can instinctively sense hostility in one another or that they're being followed. Without being able to physically grasp that, we still know that information if we trust our gut enough. Our discoveries might not be as profound with this limited way of experiencing, but it's still quite possible to produce some sort of knowledge based on external observation while lacking sensory awareness.

Do you think there could be social interaction, from this intuition? Since humans (especially me- I talk way too much, I know) are by nature social creatures, if we had no senses, would we be able to still have some form of social interaction?

Perhaps. Maybe this is the 6th sense that I brougth up.
It is perfectly possible to still have intuition, and instinct without senses.

I totally think social interaction is possible. If we lacked all senses I think that intuition would compensate for them and make us more intuned in different ways. We all naturally have a certain level of empathy that allows us to sense how others feel without any physical cues and by not having other senses to cater to as distractions, we could concentrate on further developing this form of intuition. Do you think we rely to much on the physical form for information?

We may, most all experience that we have are based on our senses.

To Bre: In a sense, humans have slowly abandoned (or not made as much use of) internal feeling (which includes anything that we know without the use of the five senses, so intuition is a part of this) because we have become more reliant upon our physical sensations in favor of internal feeling which isn't as necessary to survive in today's world. Perhaps intuition is too specific a term and general "internal feeling" would have been better for the original post's purpose. As for someone not being able to "instinctively" know that there is hostility directed toward them, some people are able to recognize these non-physical signs more effectively than others. It depends on what strengths one has. It could be physical for one or intuition for another, distributed in the same way any other talent is.

Note: Caring is different from simply recognizing another person's needs.
