I think that this Review is good so that more people want to see this movie. It makes people think and wonder what they have done. This to people that want to watch a good movie and not think about anything is a horrible choice but for someone that wants to question themselves this is for them. I think that this review isn't great but it definitly is good advertisment. I thnk that is fairly good because he is an authority and I trust his opinion to some level. I also think that he has the right to voice his opinion and understand what is happening. I hope that more people voice what they think.

I agree with Ebert that both Crash and Dickens employ quite unrealistic situations, like of how Officer Ryan happened to be there to save Mrs. Thayer (the black woman he molested) or how the very next day after the cops split up, Officer Hansen shoots a black man who also happens to be Graham's brother. I like his wording of LA having like 20 people.

However, I don't think Crash works like Dickens does. As Ebert himself admits, Crash doesn't really make statements or ask questions. On the other hand, Dickens made profound statements about things that were pretty explicit. So, unlike Dickens, I don't think Crash is going anywhere.

The movies that I hate the most are the ones that are black and white; the ones that divide the world into good and evil. I don't understand how anyone can take them seriously. I'd argue that evil doesn't exist becuase do people we consider evil do bad things in the name of evil or for values and beliefs that we don't agree with? I'm just glateful that Crash makes that distinction clear and that Ebert points that out.
